Born in Singapore, Gershon and his family relocated to Hong Kong when he was 12. After living there for seven years, he returned to Singapore to serve in the Army for two years. Thereafter, he moved to Los Angeles to attend University of Southern California (USC) for the Film & Television Production Program. His films have been recognized domestically and internationally with numerous screenings and awards. Ultimately, his personal goal is to write, direct and produce commercially and critically appealing science fiction feature films that motivate positive social change.
His dramatic short The Ascension won multiple awards including the "Adam Ford Youth Filmmaking Award” at the 2012 Crossroads Film Festival in Mississippi and “Best Film” at the 2011 SIS Film Awards. Since then, it has been screened in more than a dozen film festivals across the globe including Hawaii International Film Festival, Newport Beach Film Festival and Irvine International Film Festival. Additionally, he has been a nominated for the cinematography award at the 2015 Miami Web Festival for the Emmy-nominated TV miniseries, Con. Gershon is in the final stages of his upcoming science fiction film, Preality.
In 2012, Gershon started up his own production business, Cinechromatic Studios, dedicated in providing professional videography, photography and scoring services.
When he enlisted in the Singapore Armed Forces (Army) in 2013, he attended the Specialist Cadet School and was eventually placed in charge of providing media for his unit. His responsibilities included media coverage for foreign delegates and external visitors such as the United States Army Sergeant Major, The President, Royal Brunei Navy and the New Zealand Army Sergeant Major. He additionally produced key organizational materials like the institution's corporate video and its quarterly graduation videos, which screened to 6,000 spectators live annually. Shortly, he founded the Media Innovation Specialist Team (M.I.S.T.) - the team dedicated in providing professional videography, photography and publication work for the Institute. Thereafter, Gershon spearheaded "The Studio" project of designing and developing a full-fledged professional working studio and initiated the upgrading of equipment to meet industry-standard.
His contributions earned Gershon an invitation from The President to the 2014 Presidential Garden Reception, a Best Soldier Award and a SAFTI MI Letter of Appreciation.
He aspires to be the amalgamation of the cinematic mastery of Christopher Nolan and the cultural influence of Walt Disney. He has faith he will be. And better.
